{"id":21,"date":"2015-11-01T09:00:00","date_gmt":"2015-11-01T09:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/coa.washco.utah.gov\/st-george\/?page_id=21"},"modified":"2025-11-26T17:12:42","modified_gmt":"2025-11-26T17:12:42","slug":"transportation","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/coa.washco.utah.gov\/st-george\/transportation\/","title":{"rendered":"Dial-A-Ride (Transportation)"},"content":{"rendered":"<h4><a href=\"http:\/\/coa.washco.utah.gov\/st-george\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/6.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-1668 alignright\" src=\"http:\/\/coa.washco.utah.gov\/st-george\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/6-1024x768.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"495\" height=\"371\" srcset=\"https:\/\/coa.washco.utah.gov\/st-george\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/6-1024x768.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/coa.washco.utah.gov\/st-george\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/6-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/coa.washco.utah.gov\/st-george\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/6-768x576.jpg 768w, https:\/\/coa.washco.utah.gov\/st-george\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/6-1536x1152.jpg 1536w, https:\/\/coa.washco.utah.gov\/st-george\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/6.jpg 2016w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 495px) 100vw, 495px\" \/><\/a><strong>Dial-a-Ride provides transportation to those who are 60 years of age or older to the following:<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>-Medical Appointments<\/p>\n<p>-Prescription Pick-up<\/p>\n<p>-Lunch or activities at the St George Active Life Center<\/p>\n<p>-Grocery shopping at various locations (call for details)<\/p>\n<p>-Spousal visits<\/p>\n<p>The Dial-a-Ride service provided by the <strong>St. George Active Life Center<\/strong> is available <strong>Tuesday thru Friday from 9:30am to 2:00pm <\/strong>in the St. George area, including Ivins, Santa Clara, Sun River, Bloomington, Bloomington Hills and Washington City.\u00a0 Suggested donation is $3.00 one-way or $5.00 round trip for all transportation provided.\u00a0 Transportation is provided on a first come, first served basis.\u00a0 So, the earlier you call the better your chances of getting the requested assistance.\u00a0 Rides are not available on Holidays or when the Senior Center is closed.<\/p>\n<p><strong>To schedule transportation<\/strong>, please call the St George Active Life Center at<strong> <i>435-301-7296<\/i><\/strong><i><strong>,<\/strong> <\/i>choose<strong> <i>option #1<\/i><\/strong>.<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><strong>TO SCHEDULE A RIDE &#8211; LEAVE A VOICEMAIL ANYTIME<\/strong> with the following information\n<ul>\n<li>First and Last name, telephone number and home address<\/li>\n<li>Date and time you would like to be picked up at home<\/li>\n<li>Destination name and complete address<\/li>\n<li>Appointment time (if applicable)<\/li>\n<li>Time you would like to be picked up and taken home<\/li>\n<li>Any special conditions including mobility equipment\/ personal assistant, etc.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>We will call you back to <strong>CONFIRM<\/strong> your request<\/li>\n<li>Request rides at least <strong><u>THREE<\/u><\/strong> business days in advance (excluding Monday)\n<ul>\n<li>First Come &#8211; First Served<\/li>\n<li>Medical appointments take precedence over other rides<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong><u>SUGGESTED DONATION<\/u><\/strong><strong>: \u00a0\u00a0$3.00 one way\u00a0\u00a0 \/ \u00a0$5.00 round trip<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Driver can <strong>only<\/strong> take <strong>scheduled riders<\/strong> to <strong>scheduled destinations<\/strong> (if your spouse is coming with you, you must include him\/her when requesting the ride)<\/li>\n<li><strong><u>BE READY!<\/u><\/strong> The driver has a <strong><em><u>15 minute<\/u><\/em><\/strong> window on <strong><em><u>either side<\/u><\/em><\/strong> of the scheduled pick up time.\n<ul>\n<li>The rider shall be ready 15 minutes prior to scheduled pick up time and come out to the bus when the bus arrives<\/li>\n<li>The driver will wait a maximum of three minutes at pickup location for passenger. This will be strictly enforced to keep the drivers on schedule.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong><u>CANCELLATIONS:<\/u><\/strong> The rider is responsible for cancellation of scheduled rides as soon as possible so other people may be served. You can leave a voicemail to cancel.\n<ul>\n<li>To cancel a scheduled ride, please call 435-301-7290, option #1 (Please leave a voicemail if it is not during our normal operating hours) If you must cancel the day of your appointment you must leave a message before 8:00am.<\/li>\n<li>Failure to cancel your scheduled ride it will result in a No-Show being recorded to your customer record. Three no-shows may result in DAR service being suspended for a period of time.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong><u>SERVICE ANIMALS ONLY:<\/u><\/strong> Our policy on service animals follows the Americans with Disabilities Act.
